Welcome to the new series of blogs on Power BI Advanced! In this series, we'll delve into more powerful tools and techniques that will take your data analysis and reporting skills to the next level. Explore the Modules below to learn more about each area.
-
Module 1: Begin with Power BI
This module covers the fundamentals of using Power BI. You'll learn why data analysis is key, how Data Analysts use Power BI, and the essentials of connecting to diverse data sources via different methods (Import, DirectQuery, Live Connection). We'll also address common data import errors.
-
Module 2: Preparing Data in Power BI
"Preparing Data," teaches you how to transform raw data in Power BI. You'll learn to merge data using different joins, profile and shape data for cleanliness and simplicity, and ensure data accuracy through proper data types. The module also covers designing effective data models using dimensional modeling concepts like fact and dimension tables, understanding relationships and cardinality, defining data granularity, and creating hierarchies for better analysis. By the end, you'll be equipped to build a well-structured and efficient data model ready for insightful analysis and visualization.
